Initiatives and university projects
Numerous student initiatives offer a wide range of opportunities to get involved and gain experience alongside your studies. The initiatives are dedicated to a wide variety of topics and tasks.
With over 120 members, we represent the interests of the student body at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences on a voluntary basis! We are divided into different committees in order to represent your opinion in the best possible way and to make your studies easier as well as sweeten them with affordable leisure activities!
YOUR REPRESENTATION ON THE COMMITTEES
Democracy is also important at your university. During your studies at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, you will certainly come into contact with one or two committees. You may not be directly aware of others, but in the background your fellow students do everything they can to shape your studies and represent you. The committees at the university are divided into the following two groups:
The General Students’ Committee (AStA) is the
executive body and the representation
of the student body at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.

There are various commissions at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences that make decisions in the interest of the student body and strive for improvements on the respective topics. Students have a say in all commissions.
The General Assembly (VV) of the constituted student body is the highest authority of the student body at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and serves to discuss topics of public interest to the university. The VV can make suggestions to the StuPa and the AStA. An AGM can be requested by the AStA, the StuPa, a departmental council or a group of at least 3% of the enrolled students and is convened by the StuPa chair.
We do our work on a voluntary basis and always want to treat each other with respect and appreciation. To this end, we have written down ten guiding principles and principles that form the basis of our work and cooperation at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.
Our actions are always guided by the interests of the student body of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, because we are your elected representatives in the committees of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.
We actively participate in university politics! We seek discussions with other committees and actors at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, mediate and actively help shape student life.
We do our work voluntarily and in an honorary capacity. We work for the interests of the student body in addition to our studies, work and free time. Without the voluntary commitment of every single person, the work of the committees would not be possible.
We work towards common goals in an appreciative, trusting and open manner in transparent structures. We respect and support each other and treat each other with understanding and appreciation. Praise, recognition and the ability to accept criticism determine our cooperation.
Regardless of race, ethnic origin, gender, religion, physical impairment, age or sexual orientation, we treat each other with respect and tolerance.
We deal with new ideas openly and constructively. We learn from and with each other and share our knowledge and strengths. This is how new ideas and projects emerge.
Interdisciplinary & open for new things
We assume economic, social and ecological responsibility in our daily actions. We always try to make our decisions and actions with sustainability in mind.
We see commitment as the foundation of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and want to value and strengthen it. We promote voluntary commitment through qualification. Transfer of responsibility and recognition.
We strive for open and respectful communication among ourselves. Our actions should be transparent and comprehensible for outsiders.
