“My appeal to all students: Take a look around to see what there is besides your studies”

And why should you? Studying is exhausting enough and you should at least take time for yourself… Yes, that’s true – at least in part. However, you will find out early on that even the pure study does not teach you what employers and German bureaucracy demand of you. The 3 years are intended to develop not only intellectually, but also personally. To get to know one’s strengths, to improve them and to discover new ones. And our university offers a number of opportunities for every student. In addition, you will become part of a big family – the Hochschulfreunde team!

Are you interested in event management, for example? Then you are in great hands at the terrace festival or in the student councils! Or would you rather support refugees or stand up for water for the world? Then take a look at Campus ohne Grenzen or Viva con Aqua!

There is really something for everyone here on campus. And the work is not only diverse, but also incredibly fun. You not only get to know yourself better, but also a lot outside of your studies.

Have posters put up small

And what do already active students say about their volunteer work?

“This is… it’s so much fun here!”

Yes ok, they didn’t put it quite like that – but most of them would always choose to do it again. Whether it’s the responsibility or the friendships made, the work enriches life enormously alongside your studies.

“I have the opportunity here to make a difference at the university. I can contribute my own ideas and also create a large network. You get to know many new people and often and enjoy spending days, evenings and nights together. The responsibility you have also prepares you for later management positions. The learning effect is enormously high – but the fun is never neglected.” Sven, 25, AStA board member

So if you want to get involved, just drop by the respective office! There you will not only get all the information you need, but also get to know the first people directly. If you are interested in the student councils, you are also welcome to go to the official Meet n Greet. When and where do they take place? Just keep an eye out for our posters!

By the way: You can still stand for your committee until 4.11! Just drop by your AStA office or download the election proposal here.
