The blood donation at Westerberg is coming up again: on April 11, you can donate blood from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the auditorium at Westerberg. Time to think about why you should definitely keep this appointment.

1. You save lives

Let’s start with the obvious: blood donations save lives. Every human body needs blood. And blood cannot be produced artificially. That’s why it’s important that there are always enough reserves. Be it for surgeries or in the treatment of illnesses or even after accidents. Many people need blood reserves when their own bodies cannot produce enough of them. Who knows, maybe you will save a human life with your blood one day.

2. It could affect you too

Of course, we keep our fingers crossed that this doesn’t happen to anyone, but after accidents or even during surgery, people often need blood. And it can affect any of us. Including you. Out of pure solidarity with other people, we should think about the fact that we too may get into the situation at some point and need blood. We should be happy that other people have donated blood before us and are giving something back.

3. Health check included

With every blood donation, the health of the donor is always checked. This means that blood pressure, temperature and the Hb value of the blood (red blood pigment) are determined before the donation. In addition, the doctor uses a questionnaire to check how fit you are. If everything is ok, then you can donate. And even after the donation, the blood is checked again. If there are indications of HIV, hepatitis or other diseases, you will be notified immediately.

4. There is free food and catering

After such a blood donation, the donors must of course be strengthened again. We make sure of that! With buffet, sweets, drinks and everything that goes with it. So if that’s not a reason, then we don’t know what is!

We need you!

For us, these are all good reasons why you should donate blood. We will do the same and look forward to seeing you! So come around! Blood donations will also be available in the coming weeks in Haste and in Lingen (31 May).
