Are you a freshman and have heard of the stupa or the student council and would like to participate? Or have you been at the university for a long time and have the feeling that now it’s time to get down to business and make a difference? Then this is your chance, because the university elections are coming up again!

What does that mean?

You have certainly been to a party organized by a student council . Each individual student council member is elected by you or the other students of your faculty. Direct. The same applies to the student parliament (stupa for short), the senate and the faculty councils. In principle, this means that you indirectly determine what is going on with your vote. But it’s much better if you let yourself stand for election. Then you directly determine how the university is organized and, above all, what student life looks like!

Who are we looking for?

Quite simply: you. You don’t need any management experience to be able to participate in the student committees. For us, it’s about having fun and being interested in wanting to change and make a difference. There is something for everyone on campus: You want to decide on the semester ticket and the student budget? Then the Stupa, the highest student body, is the right place for you. You want to plan events from time to time, then get yourself nominated for the student councils. Or if you want to make a difference directly at your faculty, then you absolutely have to join the faculty council. Or do you want to decide on university-wide matters together with professors and staff of the university? Then off to the Senate with you!

And why should I do that?

Sure, studying can sometimes be demanding, but you’ve probably already noticed that studying is not only there to develop intellectually, but also personally. What helps more to get to know and develop one’s strengths than to gain experience?

And apart from that: In addition to a lot of experience, you get to know great people, get involved socially and even have a lot of fun!

So, be part of it!

Stand for the committee of your choice until October 26 and become part of a huge community: the University Friends.
You can find the application form to be filled out in your student council or AStA office.
