On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, the third general meeting of the student association KommunikOS took place. Deputy chairman Nino Ostheim and CFO Rebekka Vitz gave a review of the past year of the association. In addition to the review of the year, the election of the new board was also on the agenda. “Last year we made a lot of memories. These memories are of course associated with work, but at least as much fun in the association’s work,” Ostheim summed up. In the further course he looked back on workshops and events. On April 5, 2019, for example, a workshop on the topic of “GreenTech” took place by the Frankfurt-based agency Oseon. This was followed shortly afterwards on April 27, 2019 by the annual industry event “KoMaktuell – Trends in Communication Management“, which offered participants exciting sessions in the areas of strategy development, employee communication, personal branding and networking. “The events are only possible through the strong cooperation of the club members in the different teams.

The event team, the external communications team, the finance team and the board have always worked hand in hand at past events,” Ostheim praised. The number of members of the association makes it clear that KommunikOS has continued to develop in the third year of the association: At the present time, KommunikOS consists of 129 members and two company members. “In addition to supporters and sponsors, such as the PR Journal and the ROSEN Group, we were also able to win two company members from the region. Medienhaus Emsland and connectiv! eSolutions now support KommunikOS as corporate members,” explained CFO Vitz. After the review of the year, the election of the new board followed.

Thea Bühner was elected as the first chairwoman of the association and thus the successor to Eike Dalhoff, who had previously held this position for two years in a row. Together with the new CFO Sara Gust and the re-elected Louisa Windbrake as first deputy chairwoman, she will take over the management of the association. Christin Markus was re-elected as second deputy chairperson, all four are studying communication management in their fifth semester. Wiebke Neyrat, who is studying communication management in her third bachelor’s semester, was elected as the third deputy chairperson. Finally, Ostheim gave an outlook on the coming year. In addition to workshops and the “KoMaktuell – Trends in Communication Management“, another event entitled “Communication as a weapon and means of political pacification” will take place on December 3, 2019 at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences in Westerberg. More information about the event will follow shortly.
