Exam phase? Panic? We will give you a few tips on how to successfully survive the exam phase. For most people, these tips will be nothing new, but maybe one or the other first-year student can still learn something.

1. Don’t drive yourself crazy
There is usually no reason to drive yourself crazy. Everyone always tries their best and if the exam was not successful in the first attempt, then it will be successful in the second. And if not, you still have the third attempt. No one will tear your head off if you fail.

2. Postponed is not cancelled
This means two things: Most students regret having postponed an exam at a later point in time because they saw that it could be done somehow. So try it calmly. As I said, you still have two attempts.
The same applies to learning: Start early. You don’t have to spend hours on it, but at least for a few minutes a day. That helps! Believe me. 😉

3. Take a look at the course catalogue
If you are looking for literature, take a look at the course catalogue of your degree programme. This is usually underestimated, but can also often be very helpful.

4. Ask students from higher semesters for materials
Most of the time, courses of study hardly change in terms of content. That’s why you can always ask students from higher semesters for materials or exams. But be careful! Many lecturers or the university often don’t like this exchange, so don’t necessarily shout it out into the world. 😉

5. Ask professors for question time
Many professors are persuaded to do a question and answer session or give advice for the exams that limit the topics somewhat. If they don’t offer it themselves, just ask them. They’re just human beings. And most of them don’t want to let you fail.

6. Do something different
When you learn, it’s important that you do something different. After 1.5 hours of learning at the latest, our brain is no longer receptive. Then you should take a break. It’s best to leave your desk for this. Otherwise, your head is still studying and your brain cannot properly distinguish between work and leisure. So go out for 15 minutes in between and clear your head.

We hope that these tips can help you a little bit to pass all your exams! We believe in you and as I said, don’t drive yourself crazy!
