The smell of barbecue is in the air, the sun breaks through Osnabrück’s most persistent rain cloud and the favorite band of your youth presents the Song of the Year – you guessed it: We are in the middle of the Battle Exam Phase vs. Summer. And as if the level of distraction wasn’t big enough (click here for Part 1: the campus talk app Jodel), the whole of Europe is now talking about football. And the habits of men. But everything has already been said about the latter.

What type of fan are you?

At major football events, a raised index finger is always pointed at those fans who appear purely for the European Championship/World Cup. Guilty. But seriously: During the exam phase, you are interested in everything that has nothing to do with the exam material. Offside rule – Pythagorean theorem 1:0 (0:0).

Where are you looking?

But now the all-important question: Where are you going to watch football? We asked arounda bit and picked up the following recommendationsfor watching the pack. If you have any other tips – let me know in the comments.

  • Büdchen am Westerberg
The proximity to the Westerberg campus is practical and a chic screen will be set up for the European Championships. However, you should be there early for a seat, but then you will be rewarded with the best beer garden atmosphere.
  • Anyway in Martinistraße
The Anyway has a large courtyard and this year also won the fight against the sun (thanks to the LED video wall). It gets rather crowded here, but the chances of getting a beer quickly are said to be good.
  • Warehouse at Heger Tor
It will also be cuddly crowded in the warehouse. The cinema screen in the large hall offers probably the best picture experience, but that’s of secondary importance in football. The funniest atmosphere can be found in the small courtyard.
  • Alando Palais at Pottgraben
Osnabrück’s most loved/hated club is also bursting at the seams for the European Championship. Here you have the choice between watching outside and inside. However, you should still find a place if you have studied until shortly before the game *cough*.
  • Grand Hotel am Schlosswall
In addition to disco bingo and watching Tatort, you can also relax and watch football at the Grand Hotel. Smoking is also permitted.
  • Green hunter at St. Catherine’s Church
Of course, football is also watched in the Jäger. Instead, there are some rooms, some screens and lively staff. Hard-boiled people sit down on the pew in the smoking room.
  • Joe Enoch’s Sportsbar in the Old Town
The bar of the former VfL player is also popular to watch football. There is more TV here than in the TV department at Saturn and you can sit outside relaxed.

But Osnabrück’s shared living rooms are also popular sports arenas. This is where the true football experts show themselves who teach Kahn & Scholl to fear. Maybe you’re still looking for a fellow viewer? Feel free to advertise in our classifieds. And now off to the learning material 😉
