This weekend it was that time again:

A group of around 60 first-year students, accompanied by the student councils WiSo and I&I, made their way to beautiful Detmold.

Friday, 21/10/16, 13:00

Unaware of where they are going (or what to expect), the first participants gradually gather at Osnabrück Central Station. Drinks and music are of course already available – that’s what the student councils are known for;) A few platforms later, everyone arrives at the Detmold country school center, a large empty house in the middle of nowhere. If you are now thinking about Project-X similar thoughts… it’s not quite that bad, because the consistently controlled serving – as well as the process planned down to the last detail – shows us once again how responsibly the student councils work.

A large-scale flunkyball tournament decides which of the wildly mixed groups are allowed to enter the rooms first. While all participants make their beds, the grandiose catering service in the lounge serves up a big meal. A good meal is a good basis for an evening full of games, fun and…. a renewed competition… the incentive: Whoever loses, cleans the toilet! 🙂 From about 11:00 p.m., the recreation room of the house is transformed into a dance floor. At the end of a successful day, there is another exuberant celebration together.

Saturday, 10/22/16, 8:00 a.m.

After a short ghetto blaster wake-up action, everyone gathers for breakfast. The atmosphere is great and everyone is highly motivated to start the rally planned for the day.

After another flunkyball tournament, which determined the starting order, the first troops start their adventurous journey. On the entire route, student council members are spread over 7 stations, where the first-year students can collect points through different games. Whether flour, rice or sangria… There is no obstacle that cannot be overcome. In the evening, everyone rewards themselves with a freshly grilled steak from the grill. Satiated and strengthened, they continue where Friday left off…

Sunday, 10/23/16, 8:00 a.m.

On Sunday morning, this quiet place is transformed into a place where a pack of wild students rages through the house from left to right and from right to left in a cleaning mania so as not to miss the bus. The atmosphere is – as it has been all weekend – awesome. After arriving in Osnabrück, some participants gather on campus to end the beautiful weekend with an after-work beer.

We, the student councils, can once again report on a great weekend and are looking forward to the upcoming follow-up meeting!
