Last week, Madleen already gave us a small overview of the upcoming 41st Terrace Festival . It’s high time for a little soundcheck. We want to know who the organizers have booked this year. Northern Germany’s largest student festival – that’s an announcement! For a long time now, not only local bands have been asked. We can expect a 3-day line-up of bands and DJs in the evening program. Let’s start with the music for Monday, 25.04.2016.
Golly
Vincent Golly from Osnabrück combines funk and soul in German and comes on stage with a 9-piece band. With a brass band behind them, it drives quite a bit. On his new single “Sie steht drauf” Vincent mixes rap and soul. The whole thing has the lightness and positive mood of a Fanta 4 rap song without really wanting to be rap. Vocally, it doesn’t stop at speech singing and Vincent always lets the soul penetrate to the front. Here is the current video:
Landing of milk and honey
In the self-description it says “Rap and hip hop meet pop rock, musical mixture with influences from Kraftklub, OK Kid, Heisskalt, Twenty One Pilots”. And that’s exactly how the first single “Call me Rainer” from the 2015 mixtape sounds.
The references and influences of German rap artists like Prinz Pi become clear on songs like “Postkarten”. The three guys from Schlaraffenlandung from Baden-Württemberg are the headliners of the evening.
