Post-colonial city tour in Osnabrück (October 2025)

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

In cooperation with the Museumsquartier Osnabrück, the Racism Working Group at the University organises two post-colonial city tours with Dr. Thorsten Heese.

Between 1884 and 1918, Germany was a colonial power – Osnabrück was also involved in this history. People from trade, the military, industry, the church and seafaring contributed to colonialism or supported it by consuming colonial goods. The tour goes in search of traces of this colonial heritage in the Osnabrück cityscape.
