Children, how time flies! The Hochschulfreun.de project has now been “live” for six months – as it is called in technical jargon.
A good time to look back
Half a year ago, the student platform went online under hochschulfreun.de , but almost two years ago the idea was born. A joint committee weekend was to be the cornerstone of a new website that connects and networks the students and the committee work at the university more closely with each other. In this form, this site is even unique in Germany! When we volunteered back then, however, we would never have guessed what was in store for us. As the project grew larger and more extensive, the team also grew and the required funding increased – but no problem! Everything was quickly found and in the summer of 2015 we worked diligently so that everything could start on time for the winter semester 2015/16.
We would like to present you with a few figures
In the last six months, 35 posts in the blog have informed you about everything that is going on in Osnabrück and Lingen. More than 45,000 visitors with over 125,000 page views and we are particularly pleased: The level remains constant! On average, the site is accessed 250 times a day. 45% do this via mobile phone, which is not a problem: The site is optimized for mobile devices. And you can also get some helpful things here: 7,000 downloads since the start of the site, such as the official
Which article has been read the most?
Maybe the announcement of candidates for the university elections or the live ticker for the pub crawl? All articles are hot contenders, but the winner is: Of checked shirts and Helene Fischer – a blog post about party life at the university location Haste.
But we don’t want to withhold this number from you either: There are currently over 80 topics for blog articles and promotions in the pipeline, so you can be curious about what else may come!
Six months – also a good time to say “thank you”
Because without another support, idea and helping hand, this site would not exist in this form. The biggest hug for the team Hochschulfreun.de! Always creative, motivated and not only the device never gets tired: One or the other night shift was necessary so that, for example, the semester calendar also makes it to the end of printing on time. By the way: There are only a few remaining stocks left, which you can pick up at the AStA for free!
Big thanks to:
- the AStA for their patience and trust
- the university for the support – everyone we’ve ever talked to about the project – you know!
- the Commission for Study Quality Funds
- our programmer and experts in all questions
- the student councils for the enthusiasm
- the clubs and projects for participation
- and to you for finding your way here and maybe stopping by more often!
Here’s to many more six months and an exciting summer semester 2016!
