The university elections are scheduled for 27 November 2017 . This means that you can elect your student representatives for the year 2018 online.

Who is wanted?

Committed students who want to represent the interests of the approximately 12,000 students of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences in the student committees. Whether in student councils, in the student parliament or in the faculty councils.

You can find the exact distribution of seats in the various committees on our university election special.

All those who are elected will be in office from the summer semester 2018 and will represent you and your fellow students for one year. So help decide who that will be!

Why should I vote?

Fortunately, we students can have a say and participate in decisions on many topics that affect studies or the university. The university elections give you the opportunity to decide which students represent you, your fellow students and, above all, your interests. These include, for example: the design of the next university party, the design of the semester ticket or the realization of the next foosball tournament, but also the design of the campus, because we students have some options here as well.

How does the election work?

So that you can relax and put your crosses on election day, you will get a short introduction to the university election system here. The election consists of the individual election and the list election. In the individual election , you do exactly what the name says. You choose the applicants individually. You always vote for as many candidates as there are places in the committees (several votes). In the list election , on the other hand, you only have one vote. The point here is, for example, that the StuPa does not ultimately consist exclusively of students of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Business, but that each faculty is represented in an appropriate proportion.

The thing with the online elections!

Last year, the university introduced online elections together with the AStA . Of course, there will be one again this year.

The university is working together with the company Polyas, the market leader for online voting. How exactly the elections are carried out securely and anonymously is probably only understood by an I&I member and the AStA’s university policy officer … for everyone else: But they looked at it very closely ! And found to be both safe and anonymous.

For us, this means registering in the OSCA portal from 27 November and electing our student representatives from the comfort of your own home.
