Since the university elections are coming up, we would like to inform you in the coming days with the series “What does it actually do…” present the individual committees of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences once again.

Let’s start today with the StuPa:

The StuPa, or student parliament, is the highest student body at the university. It consists of 25 parliamentarians directly elected by you and two chairmen, who do not have the right to vote, but who invite to the meetings, chair them and write the minutes. They also convene the general assembly and evaluate circular procedures.

The term of office of each parliamentarian is one year. Since you and every other student elect the parliamentarians directly, you also determine how many Osnabrück and Lingen students the StuPa is ultimately made up of.

What does the StuPa do?

The student parliament represents the interests of all students throughout the university, elects and reviews the AStA and also adopts the budget. In addition, the StuPa votes on the statutes and rules of procedure of the AStA, as well as on its own.
And to ensure that you always get from A to B flexibly, the StuPa also determines your semester ticket. This is determined each year for the following two semesters.
For such votes, the StuPa meets every three to four weeks for a meeting at one of the three university locations.

If you have any questions or suggestions or are simply curious, just come to a meeting. These are generally public! You can find the (new) StuPisten and also the meeting dates on the profile of the StuPa. You can read the protocols on OSCA.

So come by! We look forward to seeing you!
