Dear students!
There will also be a blood donation event this semester – despite Corona. This will take place on
At this point, we would also like to thank all students who made their way to the OsnabrückHalle in the winter semester 2020/21! Together, we were able to collect a total of 197 donations, 59 of which even came from first-time donors. This is a new university record! Do you think we can break the record again this semester?
But what are blood donations actually so important for?
Donated blood is used, for example, for therapies for seriously ill people or in the event of serious accidents. Blood donations are therefore vital for many and unfortunately there is no artificial alternative. If too few blood donations are received in a period of about one week, patient care can no longer be guaranteed without gaps. Optimal care for the sick and injured is therefore no longer given. So donations cannot be dispensed with in any case!
Blood donation and Corona, is that possible?
In fact, it works pretty well! Hygiene standards have always been high anyway. Recently, you can even book an appointment for your donation in advance. This prevents long waiting times and long queues, which means that all safety standards can be met even better.
And who is allowed to donate?
Anyone who feels fit and healthy and really is. Anyone who shows the first symptoms (scratchy throat, chills, cough, shortness of breath) will be deferred for four weeks and is therefore not allowed to donate. Anyone with a body temperature above 38°C, anyone who has had contact with people who have contracted Covid-19 or who has been ill themselves will also be deferred (in this case, at least four weeks must be waited before donating after healing).
So what are you waiting for?
Book your appointment here: BOOK AN APPOINTMENT or come by spontaneously (but you may have to expect waiting time here). Grab your mouth and nose protection and visit us on 21.04 from 2:30 p.m. in the Osnabrück Halle. We are waiting for you here with snack packages and a raffle.
Until then and stay healthy!
