An incredible amount has happened in the last few months. We are very pleased to welcome 90 guest students to the university. After a few wrong turns on campus and with a lot of patience, we are now in good spirits that most of them have arrived in their modules and German courses.
Plan, plan and have a lot of fun
In order to prepare ourselves for the coming time, we came together at the beginning of the semester for a planning weekend in Bohmte. In the winter semester, we kept coming up with new ideas about what we would like to offer apart from the exchange project. And since our team is growing steadily, many new projects could be launched on the weekend. To be honest, we didn’t just plan but see for yourself…
What has happened so far…
So we started the new semester well strengthened and highly motivated. “We” are now 20 students from the college and the university, who organize a wide variety of joint offers for students and refugees at the university. For example, an international football group will soon be founded, a group especially for young women will meet once a week and thanks to an insane number of committed students, we will be able to offer German lessons four times a week from May. Of course, all the work must not be neglected to celebrate 😉 Campus Without Borders celebrates! takes place monthly in the CaLo.
What has become of the exchange partners?
Almost exactly one month ago, our 30 exchange partners finally got to know each other. With a lot of good humour, good food but also a bit of stage fright, we got off to a good start for the exchange project. Since then, all tandems have met every two weeks, cook together, do handicrafts, make music and discuss.
What’s next?
As you can see, there is a lot to do but we have already achieved a lot. If you now feel like taking a look at the whole thing, write us an email or just drop by our team meetings . Maybe we’ll see each other on April 26 at the Exchange of cultures at the Terrace Festival!
