Blood donation

Dear students!

There will be a blood donation again this semester. This will take place on 12.04.2023 in the OsnabrückHalle. Between 2:30pm – 8pm   you can come by to donate blood. In addition, there is the possibility to apply for a Stem cell donation 

For all the hardworking donations, we have organised a burger cart this time.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the students who made their way to us in the winter semester 2022/23! Together we were able to collect a total of 187 donations.  Do you think we can break that number again this semester?

But what are blood donations actually so important for?

Donated blood is used, for example, for therapies for seriously ill people or in the event of serious accidents. Blood donations are therefore vital for many and unfortunately there is no artificial alternative. If too few blood donations are received in a period of about one week, patient care can no longer be guaranteed without gaps. Optimal care for the sick and injured is therefore no longer given. So donations cannot be dispensed with in any case!

And why is stem cell donor registration so important?

The purpose  is to find suitable stem cell donors for all those patients who are waiting for a stem cell transplant. Doctors rely on stem cell therapy especially for haematopoietic disorders.
